Jay Boat is a 35 footer that is easy to race and easy to cruise, thanks to its good design with the pentex 103% jib set on a roller-furler and the 77 m2 asymmetric spinnaker on a retractable sprit.

Jay Boat was surveyed August 28, 2001 by Richard Whitman (SeaScope Yacht Surveying & Consulting).

Racing

The boat can be raced either double-handled (there is now a double-handled J/105 class in Annapolis, MD) or with a crew of five/six persons. Class racing is good and very competitive in Annapolis. The owner/driver national Class Association (http://www.j105.org/) aims at maintaining the ease of use of the boat and at minimizing ownership costs.

In heavy air, the boat excels, is safe and has no bad habits.
